Alpacas are sheep-camel species (llamas) bred in South America. They are naturally endowed with a thick, soft, and very fine fleece of hair to cope with the prevailing climate, which can reach temperatures as low as -25°C. The wool ranges in color from white through all shades of brown to deep black.
